The ability to mix solutions, on a millisecond timescale, is ideal for biophysical studies of fast protein interactions, protein folding and enzymes kinetics. In the field of chemistry quenching and energy transfer rates are also ideal applications. HORIBA’s SFA-20 has a standard flow cell that works with either the FluoroMax or Fluorolog line of spectrofluorometers. With a dead volume of just 350 µl per reagent, it is ideally suited to leading edge research where only small quantities of novel or expensive materials are available.

PerkinElmer is launching the newest member of its collection of hyphenated solutions for thermal analysis. While TG-IR (Thermogravimetric Analysis coupled to Infrared Spectroscopy) and TG-MS (Thermogravimetric Analysis coupled to Mass Spectroscopy) are well known approaches to evolved gas analysis (EGA), both have weaknesses. The new TL-9000 transfer line for TGA to IR to GCMS (Gas Chromatography/Mass Spec) or MS addresses these by allowing both FTIR and either MS or GCMS on the same sample.

The new dispersive 1064 Raman spectrometer family from Bayspec features the Nomadic™ Raman Microscope; RamSpec™ 1064 Raman spectrometer; MovingLab™ Raman Microscope; and Agility™ 1064 Raman Analyzer. 1064 Raman is a nondestructive, powerful technique that requires little sample preparation. 1064 Raman remains the same regardless of the excitation wavelength, reduces fluorescence interference, and serves as a cost-effective alternative for FT-Raman. The 1064 Raman spectrometer family has ...
